1985 Ritchey Timberwolf, a 17" fillet brazed rigid MTB frame with the first-generation Shimano Deore XT “deer head” groupset specifically designed for mountain biking. This bike was hand built by Tom Ritchey himself in the early 80’s. Ritchey is a US pioneer in modern frame building and the first production mountain bike builder/manufacturer in the history of the sport.

This bike was previously owned by Harumi P. Super, an influential woman in the bike industry who played a founding role in the United Bicycle Tool and United Bicycle Institute in the early 80’s, which has helped train many bike mechanics over the years. The bike was generously donated to Bike Works by her nephew Derek. It has been kept in great condition and restored to ready-to-ride condition this year by Nick at Bike Works.
